Granby Select Board raises fire and building inspection fees, defers inspector pay hike. The board voted Tuesday to split a combined $150 quarterly inspection fee into $100 for building and $100 for fire, and raised the fire detail rate to $57 an hour under the union contract. Plumbing and gas inspector Mike McCain told the board he has been paid $35 per inspection since 2018, the lowest rate among comparable towns, warning "I don't know what the town's plan is if I resign tomorrow." The board took his raise request under advisement pending town counsel's guidance on how inspector fees are legally set.

Members also appointed Holly chief procurement officer, approved $1,375,562.33 across four warrants, confirmed a $4.985 million West Street school construction contract, and continued a National Grid pole relocation hearing to March 2 after an abutter objected to a pole planned for his yard.
