Granby Select Board fills search committee, awards West Street construction contract

GRANBY — February 2, 2026 — Granby's Select Board seated a seven-member Town Administrator Search Committee and awarded a roughly $6.7 million construction contract for the West Street building at its February 2 meeting. The board appointed Rosemary Rosen, cited for her finance and human resources background, and Kathy Leonard to fill the two open seats, joining five returning members — David Dorer, Brian Hashel, Kathleen Bronner, Jennifer Bartos, and Jennifer Mlette — all with terms through June 30, 2026; Acting Town Administrator Kevin O'Grady reported 16 candidates are under review for the permanent position. The board voted to award the West Street contract to Maroy Construction of South Hadley and authorized O'Grady to sign before a 90-day bid deadline expires. Ambulance billing fees were raised effective February 3, the first increase in two years, with O'Grady noting the town's billing service ComStar achieves an 85 percent collection rate across more than 200 New England municipalities. The board also appointed recently resigned dispatcher Lee Serret to a part-time, no-assigned-shift role through June 30, and approved four warrants totaling more than $990,000 before moving into executive session on a matter involving former Town Administrator Tammy Martin.
