Granby board OKs $2,000 stipend for staffer

Granby Select Board approved a $2,000 stipend for senior center staffer Amy Gay. Town Administrator Ron said Gay "quite literally kept the senior center open" during a roughly two-month gap after Senior Center Director Natalie Archambault left June 30 and before Lauren Hannigan was hired. The board said the stipend would be funded from existing fiscal year 2027 wage savings, requiring no budget transfer, and approved it unanimously by voice vote.

Separately, the board heard that the West Street Building Committee wants a special town meeting, likely in November, to fund further renovations while the current contractor remains on site; one member estimated staying with the existing team could save "somewhere in the range of $200,000 to $300,000" in soft costs. The Finance Committee is set to join that discussion the following Monday. The meeting closed with a roll call vote, LeBlanc and Lawson both voting aye, to enter executive session on a litigation matter involving Notch Place, also known as Old Gridley Road.
