Granby Board Fixes Warrant Error, Approves Bills
Select Board · Meeting of September 21, 2026
Granby Select Board explores selling surplus town land and fixes a payroll warrant error. Members agreed to use a 13-acre Harris Street parcel, sought by an adjacent resident, as a test case for a broader land-disposition policy ahead of budget season. The board approved $944,922.62 in warrants post-dated September 1 and, after rescinding an earlier vote over a payroll-coding mistake, re-approved two more warrants of $77,192.34 each, with one abstention.
A Colonial Life presentation drew a point-of-order objection from a member who said, "I don't think we should be using board meeting time for that." The board also set the town tree lighting for December 6 and the senior Christmas luncheon for December 10, and directed the building commissioner to formalize a permitting checklist after a vendor fair at a local business exposed gaps in event rules.
