Granby Select Board put on notice over alleged winery permit and health violations, still clears FY26 appointments and a new police contract.
Select Board · Meeting of June 29, 2026
Granby Select Board put on notice over alleged winery permit and health violations, still clears FY26 appointments and a new police contract. A resident identified as Jay told the board the Wine House has made wine since 2020 without a permit until 2022, never completed a required Title 5 septic inspection, and has been dumping process water into an illegal "dry well," warning "they said they should be closed because they're creating health hazards." Board members said they could not comment until consulting town counsel but must confirm the business's operating status by Monday or see it referred to the Hampshire County District Attorney's office. Separately, the board approved a new police union contract with a modest cost-of-living increase, calling it "very fair to the town this year," and formalized one-year probationary terms through 2027 for new officers Dylan Saint Onge and Gabriel Ortiz.
Only two applications have been received so far for the open Council on Aging director post, with the current director's contract expiring this week.
