Granby Select Board sets a January 26 special town meeting to close a roughly $1 million gap in the West Street building project. Building committee member Lynn Mercer told the joint Select Board and Finance Committee meeting the total project cost has grown to nearly $6.7 million, up from the $5.6 million voters approved about three years ago. The board unanimously backed a $1,008,000 Article 1, which includes a Town Administrator's office suite, with a $788,000 Article 2 fallback if it fails.
Acting Town Administrator and Police Chief Kevin O'Grady said "Steve has really stepped up" in the department and pushed for a promotion, which the board approved. Members also authorized attorneys Jack Collins and Brian O'Toole to respond to an Open Meeting Law complaint filed by former Town Administrator Tammy Martin's attorney, and awarded the $14,500 Charter Days rides contract to Fiesta Shows.
