Granby Planning Board approves West State Street municipal office renovation with screening condition

GRANBY — October 28, 2025 — Granby Planning Board unanimously approves site plan for new municipal office at 14 West State Street. The board voted 3-0 Tuesday to approve renovation of the former West Street School — with EDM Studios as project engineer and the town of Granby as both applicant and owner — under the Mixed Use Development Overlay District. The lone condition requires screening at the east entrance from West State Street if town highway equipment continues to be stored there; board members cited constituent complaints that the area "looks like a junkyard" since the parking lot was repurposed for equipment storage. The board also received the first five sections of a newly drafted set of Planning Board Rules and Regulations — the body's first-ever such document — prepared by Pioneer Valley Planning Commission planners, and tentatively scheduled its next meeting for November 24, skipping the previously planned November 10 date.
