Granby Planning Board approves West State Street municipal office renovation with screening condition

GRANBY -- October 28, 2025, Granby Planning Board unanimously approves site plan for new municipal office at 14 West State Street. The board voted 3-0 Tuesday to approve renovation of the former West Street School, with EDM Studios as project engineer and the town of Granby as both applicant and owner, under the Mixed Use Development Overlay District. The lone condition requires screening at the east entrance from West State Street if town highway equipment continues to be stored there; board members cited constituent complaints that the area "looks like a junkyard" since the parking lot was repurposed for equipment storage. The board also received the first five sections of a newly drafted set of Planning Board Rules and Regulations, the body's first-ever such document, prepared by Pioneer Valley Planning Commission planners, and tentatively scheduled its next meeting for November 24, skipping the previously planned November 10 date.
