Granby Planning Board Approves Gas Station Sign Permit, Begins Zoning Overhaul Strategy

GRANBY — June 22, 2026 — Granby Planning Board approves illuminated sign for long-vacant Route 202 gas station and maps out sweeping zoning update strategy. The board voted unanimously Monday to grant a special permit to Mohammed Khan for an internally illuminated sign measuring 97 and three-eighths inches wide by 54 and five-eighths inches tall at 30 West State Street, clearing the way to reopen a property that has been closed for more than two years. Aisha Khan, presenting for her father, said new chip-compliant and tap-to-pay pumps are on order and the building is otherwise ready. The board also reappointed Chair James Trompke, Vice Chair Melissa St. Germain, Treasurer Christopher Jarek, and Secretary Nita Abbott to their positions for the year.
