Granby School Committee approves budget transfers, adopts 2026-27 school calendar

GRANBY — February 3, 2026 — Granby School Committee unanimously approves two budget transfers and adopts the 2026-27 academic calendar. The committee voted Tuesday to move $5,000 from instructional salaries to maintenance wages to cover unbudgeted snow-removal overtime — $1,270 already spent — and separately redirected out-of-district special education tuition savings to tutoring services, with $12,500 remaining available after $5,250 in initial spending. Calendar 4, favored by 40.7 percent of survey respondents among Granby Association staff, was adopted for the coming school year; its distinguishing feature is a December 22 half-day close before winter break, giving families an extra travel day.
