Granby Library Trustees Approve $250,925 Budget for Fiscal Year 2027
Library Trustees · Meeting of March 3, 2026
Granby Free Library trustees unanimously approved a $250,925 FY2027 operating budget at their March 3 meeting. Library Director Jen Crosby presented the spending plan, which reflects guidance from Acting Town Administrator Kevin O'Grady capping department increases at 3 percent over FY2026; the library's request comes in just below that threshold, up from $244,992 this year. Crosby flagged uncertainty in the computer network line, which she raised to $14,000 to cover the full retail cost of the CW MARS regional network membership — $13,548 last fiscal year — in case grants that have historically offset that figure are not renewed after the state goes out to bid for a new vendor.
The board also approved two warrant payments totaling $8,976.61, including $3,819 for a new photocopier purchased outright. Crosby noted that Massachusetts law requires the town to appropriate at least a rolling three-year average of library funding increased by 2.5 percent annually, or the library loses roughly $21,000 in state certification aid.
