Circulation and cataloging librarian Jean Crosby submitted her resignation at the March 11 meeting, telling the board her last day will fall sometime in June 2025 after three decades of service. Library Director Jen told trustees the departure coincides with a third consecutive budget request for a new 25-hour-per-week circulation assistant at $17.33 per hour — meaning the library could need to fill both roles within the same two-month window. The board presented two fiscal year budget options: $245,600 with the new position and $223,700 without, both including a 3 percent overall increase. The director also resubmitted a revised letter to the Finance Committee the same day, after meeting with interim Town Administrator Ira Frensi, adding statistics showing annual circulation has grown from 43,000 to 61,000 items since the library moved into its current building in 2012.
