Granby Conservation Commission amends garage permit, schedules Route 202 shed inspection
Granby Conservation Commission amends a garage permit and declines to certify a flood zone boundary for a lender.
GRANBY -- April 9, 2025, Granby Conservation Commission amends a garage permit and declines to certify a flood zone boundary for a lender. The board voted unanimously to correct a determination issued to Curtis Mo of 35 Bags Hill Road, updating the approved garage footprint from 26 by 40 feet to 30 by 40 feet after the conservation agent acknowledged a recording error from a November site visit; members described the four-foot change as "de minimis" given the structure remains an estimated 76 feet from the nearest wetland boundary. In a separate matter, the commission declined to verify that a house at 272 Bachelor Street falls outside the FEMA flood zone, citing liability exposure to the town when certifications are sought by private lenders, and instead directed the homeowner to hire a licensed land surveyor. A walk-in consultation with a Route 202 business owner whose portable storage sheds sit near a rear tree line and riverfront buffer ended with a Saturday site visit scheduled to confirm whether any structures require a formal filing.
