GRANBY -- June 17, 2025, Granby Board of Health approves contested septic design, tightens screws on failed-system enforcement. The board voted unanimously at its June 17 meeting to approve a Title 5 repair design at 74 Aldridge Road over the objections of a scheduling gap, allowing the Sheridan family to proceed with a summer home listing. All three food-service licenses for Winehouse on Carver Street were extended, but only to September 1, 2025, a shorter runway than previously indicated, after Building Inspector Tom Quinnland confirmed no plumbing permit has been filed and no interior bathroom plan yet exists for the required septic connection. The board authorized a registered-mail enforcement letter to the owner of a failed system at 49 Barton Street, demanding a face-to-face appearance with a repair timetable and warning that failure to respond will trigger referral to town counsel. A 10-day emergency beaver dam permit was approved at 134 Bachelor Street with an advisory urging the property owner to install a flow-control device instead: "You're going to end up repeating this," the chairman told applicant Andre at the meeting.
